From Wig Damage to Glam: My 20-Inch Clip-In Hair Extension Transformation

After eight years of wearing wigs as a stunt double, my hair has taken a bit of a beating. Constant wig use has left it fragile and prone to breakage, especially around the hairline. So alongside the cut and colour refresh, I finally did something every hair and makeup artist I’ve worked with has been telling me to do for years — I invested in Olaplex shampoo and conditioner. And I can honestly say, it has not disappointed. My hair already feels stronger, healthier and far less stressed.
Now, as you know, I’m not blessed with naturally thick hair, so for this glam transformation we brought in the real game changer — clip in hair extensions.
We used the Undercover Glamour Deluxe set in 20 inches to create length, fullness and that ultra-glam finish. I normally stick to 16- or 18-inch clip in hair extensions because I’m only 5ft 5, but for this shoot we decided to go all out with 20 inches for maximum impact. And I’m so glad we did. The extra length gave the whole look that red-carpet, bombshell feel while still blending beautifully with my own hair.
What I love most about clip in hair extensions is the flexibility. They give you instant volume and length without long-term commitment, which is perfect when you’re trying to restore your natural hair health. After years of wig damage, it feels good to have an option that enhances my hair without putting extra strain on it.
